Steven Arnold

Steven Arnold

Steven is our founding principal. He is a highly trained Montessori teacher for children 0-18 with international teaching experience at all levels. His qualifications include a MEd; Dip Tchng (NZ), BA, BSc, PGDipED, LTCL, LSB, ASB, ANZDA (Accred); SCA (Accred). He is qualified to teach 14 different subject topics. Steven is a teacher trainer and has been the Senior Lecturer in Montessori education at AUT. He continues to be a regular guest speaker at Montessori establishments. Steven has established three Montessori secondary schools and Harbour will be his fourth.

Patricia Gammeter

Patricia Gammeter

Patricia is originally from Switzerland and Ireland, and has been a Kiwi for the last 25 years. She is another of our founding teachers, having finished her Masters of Teaching and Learning at the University of Waikato, along with a BA in English and French, and a Graduate Diploma in Linguistics. Her son is Montessori-educated (3-12) and she’s passionate about adolescent education. She is currently completing her AMI ‘Orientation to Adolescence’ training.

Rebecca Higham

REBECCA HIGHAM

Rebecca is another of our founding teachers and was also the founding teacher of Meraki Montessori. She has a Bachelor of Education, specialising in Montessori primary teaching from AUT and a 6-12 Montessori teaching diploma from Toronto Montessori Institute. She has served on the advisory committee for the Bachelor of Education at AUT.


Francis Joung

Francis Joung

Francis has been a physiotherapist for 17 years, running his own clinic. His specialty is management of chronic pain and he lectures internationally on the topic. Francis is a trustee managing fundraising strategies as well as a multitude of other areas.

Jess Joung

Jess joung

Jess is a General Practitioner and partner in Torbay Medical Centre. She works to manage mental health issues across all age groups and recognises the need for facilities such as Harbour Montessori College. Jess is a trustee for Harbour Montessori Trust, and the project leader.

Lucy Lee

Lucy Lee

Lucy is an occupational therapist working in spinal cord and brain injury. Lucy was Montessori-educated as a young child and attributes her self-directedness and contentment to that early Montessori set-up. Lucy is a trustee working with enrolments and website development.

Ben Lee

Ben Lee

Ben is a police officer in central Auckland. He comes from a large family of national and international educators. Ben is a trustee working with Kawai Purapura and the Ministry of Education and is our Treasurer.

Paul Scanlan

Paul Scanlan

Paul is of Ngati Raukawa descent. He is the current principal at Meraki Montessori and is AMI trained with extensive further Montessori training. Paul is part of our advisory board of governance.

Nirvana Singh

Nirvana singh

Nirvana has recently returned from her AMI training in Italy to her position as Head Teacher at Meraki Montessori. Nirvana is a warm and enthusiastic person who the children are drawn to. Nirvana is part of our advisory board of governance.

Dawn Robinson-Carriero

Dawn Robinson-carriero

Dawn is a speech and language therapist from the United States. She has created a successful programme for children with autism to gain needed social skills, as well as spearheading a disability awareness programme.

Binny Wentzel

Binny Wentzel

Binny runs a forklift company and provides support and employment to a number of youths. He has two children who have attended Montessori schools. Binny is working with Kawai Purapura and the Ministry of Education.

Todd Rigg-Carriero

Todd Rigg-Carriero

Todd is a Montessori teacher and is originally from the United States. He has a Masters in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Todd is a co-discoverer of two Saturnian moons! He is a creative educator with over a decade of curriculum development.
